Southampton is a big, spread-out city with a lot of terraced streets, student lets and resident parking zones, which is exactly where mobile fitting earns its keep: we pull up beside the car, fit the tyre in the road and are gone in around half an hour. We cover the city centre, Ocean Village, St Mary's and Bevois Valley (SO14), Shirley, Freemantle and Millbrook (SO15), Bassett, Lordshill, Redbridge and Nursling (SO16), Portswood, Highfield and Swaythling (SO17), Bitterne, Townhill Park and West End (SO18), and Sholing, Woolston, Thornhill and Weston (SO19).
Beyond the city we fit regularly in Eastleigh and Chandler's Ford, Hedge End, Botley and Bursledon, Hamble and Netley, Totton, Marchwood and Hythe on the western shore, and Romsey and North Baddesley up the A3057. If you are not sure whether we reach you, contact us or call and we will tell you straight away.
Southampton is the busiest cruise port in the country, with sailings from the Ocean, City, Mayflower, QEII and Horizon terminals, and the Red Funnel car ferry to the Isle of Wight leaves from Town Quay. A puncture found at six in the morning on the M271 or on a dock gate approach with a boarding time to make is a call we know well. Tell us your sailing time when you ring and we will tell you honestly whether a tyre can be fitted before you need to be at the terminal. We can meet you on the roads and car parks around the Western and Eastern Docks; inside the dock gates the port's own traffic rules apply.
We also look after commuters and fleets along the M27 between junctions 1 and 8, the M271 to the docks, the M3 as it comes down into the city, and the A33, A35 and A3024 through town. If the tyre has shredded or the wheel is damaged, a flatbed from our recovery service can take the car to a garage of your choice.
Car towing and recovery in SouthamptonParking nose to tail in Portswood, Shirley, Freemantle and Inner Avenue means plenty of kerb strikes, especially in the student streets around Highfield. A scuffed sidewall with a bulge cannot be repaired and needs a new tyre before it lets go at speed on the M27.
Burgess Road, Portswood Road, Hill Lane, Bitterne Road West and the back streets off Shirley High Street break up every winter. A pothole can split the inner sidewall where you cannot see it, so if the car pulls or the wheel vibrates, have it checked.
Screws, bolts and shed lorry tread from port and motorway traffic litter the M27, the M271 and Millbrook Road. Most are in the tread and can be repaired; we check the whole tyre first and tell you if it is safe.
Cars kept near Ocean Village, Weston Shore, Hamble and the Hythe side of Southampton Water suffer corroded alloy rims, which cause slow leaks around the bead. We clean and seal the rim when we refit, which often cures a tyre that keeps going down.
1
Call or WhatsApp with your tyre size and your postcode. The size is printed on the sidewall, for example 205/55 R16. If you cannot read it, send a photo of the sidewall and your registration and we will look it up.

We quote a fixed price that includes the tyre, fitting, balancing, a new valve, disposal of the old tyre and VAT, then agree a time. For emergencies in Southampton we aim for 30 to 60 minutes; booked jobs are usually same day or next day.

The fitter arrives in a fully equipped van, fits and balances the tyre next to the car, checks the pressures on the other three and takes the old tyre away for recycling through a licensed waste carrier.
For emergency call-outs in the city, Eastleigh, Hedge End and Totton we aim for 30 to 60 minutes, traffic on the M27 and the Redbridge flyover permitting. Booked fittings are usually same day or next day at a time you choose. We give you an honest arrival time when you call.
Often, yes. Call as soon as you find the problem and tell us your terminal and boarding time. We can meet you on the approach roads, in the long-stay car parks or at your hotel in town. If we cannot get to you in time we will say so, and we can still fit the tyre while the car is parked up for the cruise if that helps.
Yes, 24 hours a day. If you are on a live carriageway, get everyone out of the car and behind the barrier, then call us. On the hard shoulder we fit the tyre if it is safe to do so; where there is no hard shoulder, or the traffic is too heavy, we recover the car to a safer spot first and fit it there.
Yes. Eastleigh, Chandler's Ford, Hedge End, Botley, Bursledon, Hamble, Netley, Totton, Marchwood, Hythe, Romsey and North Baddesley are all regular trips for us, and so are the villages up the Test and Itchen valleys.
Yes. We regularly fit in car parks at Adanac Park and Southampton Science Park, on the Nursling and Chickenhall Lane industrial estates, at the hospital and the universities, and at Hedge End retail park. Ask us about fleet arrangements if you run several vehicles.
Both. A puncture in the central tread area is repaired to BS AU 159 for a flat fee. Damage to the sidewall, a tyre driven on while flat, or a bulge from a kerb strike cannot be repaired safely, and we will tell you so before we start.
Every area has its own page with local roads, postcodes and answers. You can also read about the full mobile tyre fitting service, our car towing and recovery service, or contact us with a question.
Do not wait at the roadside wondering who to call. One phone call gets a fitter or recovery truck on the way.
