Hastings is hilly, with steep Victorian terraces climbing from the seafront to The Ridge and narrow streets in the Old Town where getting a flat tyre to a garage is a miserable job. Bringing the tyre to the car is the sensible answer. We cover the town centre, the Old Town, Bohemia and Blacklands (TN34), Ore, Clive Vale, Fairlight, Guestling and Westfield (TN35), St Leonards, Silverhill and Hollington (TN37), and West St Leonards, Bulverhythe, Filsham and Castleham (TN38).
Along the coast and inland we fit regularly in Bexhill, Cooden and Little Common (TN39 and TN40), Battle, Robertsbridge and Sedlescombe up the A21, and Rye, Winchelsea, Icklesham and Pett Level along the A259. If you are not sure whether we reach you, contact us or call and we will tell you straight away.
The A21 is the only trunk road into Hastings, single carriageway for most of the way from the M25, and a flat tyre on the stretches around Flimwell, Hurst Green, Johns Cross or Baldslow leaves you with nowhere safe to stop. Pull in to the first lay-by or side road you can, get out of the car and call us. Tell us which village you have passed and which direction you are heading and we will tell you honestly how long we will be. We can also meet you at the Conquest Hospital on The Ridge, at the Ravenside retail park in Bexhill or in a car park in town.
The A259 coast road through St Leonards, along the seafront and out past Rye towards Folkestone is just as busy in summer, and the Combe Valley Way link road between Bexhill and Hastings is fast and exposed. We attend all of them around the clock, and we look after commuters using Hastings and Warrior Square stations and fleets based at Churchfields, Ponswood, Castleham and Ivyhouse Lane. If the tyre is wrecked or the wheel is damaged, a flatbed from our recovery service can take the car wherever it needs to go.
Car towing and recovery in HastingsAll Saints Street, High Street, Old London Road and the climb up Mount Pleasant Road to The Ridge are steep, narrow and parked on both sides. Kerb strikes bulge sidewalls and worn fronts struggle on wet descents, so keep an eye on tread depth and sidewalls.
Bexhill Road, Harrow Lane, Battle Road, Old London Road and The Ridge break up every winter. A pothole can split the inner sidewall where you cannot see it, so if the car pulls or the wheel vibrates after a hit, have it checked.
Cars kept on the seafront at Pelham Place, Grand Parade, Bulverhythe and Bexhill suffer corroded alloy rims that leak slowly around the bead. We clean and seal the rim when we refit, which often cures a tyre that keeps going down.
Tractor mud, flints and dropped fixings collect on the A21, the A28 and the lanes out to Fairlight, Westfield and Pett. Most punctures are in the tread and can be repaired; a flint through the sidewall means a new tyre, and we carry the common sizes on the van.
1
Call or WhatsApp with your tyre size and your postcode. The size is printed on the sidewall, for example 205/55 R16. If you cannot read it, send a photo of the sidewall and your registration and we will look it up.

We quote a fixed price that includes the tyre, fitting, balancing, a new valve, disposal of the old tyre and VAT, then agree a time. For emergencies in Hastings we aim for 30 to 60 minutes; booked jobs are usually same day or next day.
3
The fitter arrives in a fully equipped van, fits and balances the tyre next to the car, checks the pressures on the other three and takes the old tyre away for recycling through a licensed waste carrier.
For emergency call-outs in Hastings, St Leonards, Ore and Bexhill we aim for 30 to 60 minutes, traffic on the A21 and the seafront permitting. Booked fittings are usually same day or next day at a time you choose. We give you an honest arrival time when you call.
Yes. We carry chocks and a jack that copes with the hills, and the van only needs to stop beside the car for around half an hour. On the narrowest streets it can be easier to meet at Rock-a-Nore or the Pelham Place car park, and we will suggest that when you call.
Get everyone out of the car and well away from the traffic, then call us. We attend the A21, the A259, the A28 and the link road 24 hours a day. If the verge is not safe to work on, we recover the car to a safer place first and fit the tyre there.
Yes. Bexhill, Cooden, Little Common, Battle, Sedlescombe, Robertsbridge, Westfield, Fairlight, Pett, Winchelsea, Rye and Camber are all regular trips for us. Narrow lanes are no problem for the van.
Yes. We regularly fit in car parks on the Churchfields, Ponswood, Castleham and Ivyhouse Lane industrial estates, at the Conquest Hospital, at the college and at the retail parks in Bexhill and Hastings. Ask us about fleet arrangements if you run several vehicles.
Both. A puncture in the central tread area is repaired to BS AU 159 for a flat fee. Damage to the sidewall, a tyre driven on while flat, or a bulge from a kerb strike cannot be repaired safely, and we will tell you so before we start.
Every area has its own page with local roads, postcodes and answers. You can also read about the full mobile tyre fitting service, our car towing and recovery service, or contact us with a question.
Do not wait at the roadside wondering who to call. One phone call gets a fitter or recovery truck on the way.
