Canterbury is a compact medieval city with narrow streets, a width restriction at the Westgate Towers and a large student population parking on terraced roads, so having the tyre brought to the car saves a lot of trouble. We cover the city centre, Northgate, Wincheap and Thanington (CT1), St Stephen's, Hales Place, St Dunstan's, Harbledown, Rough Common, Blean, Sturry, Broad Oak and Fordwich (CT2), and the villages out to Bridge, Bekesbourne, Littlebourne, Chartham and Petham (CT3 and CT4).
Along the coast we fit regularly in Whitstable, Tankerton and Seasalter (CT5) and Herne Bay, Herne and Greenhill (CT6), and inland in Chilham, Wingham, Ash and Barham. The A2 towards Dover and the A28 towards Ashford and Thanet are both well within our patch. If you are not sure, contact us or call and we will tell you straight away.
The A2 carries Dover's port traffic straight past Canterbury, and the A28 and A2050 feed everything from Thanet and Ashford into the city, so a lot of our Canterbury calls start on a slip road at Harbledown, Wincheap or Bridge. If you are on the A2 itself, pull well off the carriageway if you can and call us. We can also meet you at the Wincheap, New Dover Road and Sturry Road park and ride sites, which are far safer places to change a tyre than a dual carriageway verge. Tell us where you are and we will tell you honestly how long we will be.
If you have come off a ferry at Dover with a slow puncture and the car needs sorting before the long run up the A2 and M2, we can fit the tyre in Canterbury while you take a break. We also look after commuters using Canterbury West for the high-speed trains and fleets based at Wincheap and Lakesview. If the tyre is beyond saving, a flatbed from our recovery service can take the car wherever it needs to go.
Car towing and recovery in CanterburyHales Place, St Stephen's and the terraces off Wincheap and Northgate are packed with cars parked tight to the kerb, and the kerbs take a toll on sidewalls. A scuffed sidewall with a bulge cannot be repaired and needs a new tyre before it fails on the A2.
Sturry Road, Whitstable Road, Old Dover Road, New Dover Road and the Wincheap stretch of the A28 break up every winter. A pothole can split the inner sidewall where you cannot see it, so if the car pulls or the wheel vibrates, have it checked.
Chalk subsoil means the lanes out to Chartham, Petham, Bridge, Chilham and the Elham Valley are full of flints after rain and ploughing. A flint can cut a sidewall, which means a new tyre rather than a repair, and we carry the common sizes on the van.
Shed tread, steel wire and dropped fixings from port traffic litter the A2 from Harbledown to Lydden and the A28 towards Thanet. Most of the punctures we repair around Canterbury are tread punctures from this kind of debris.

Call or WhatsApp with your tyre size and your postcode. The size is printed on the sidewall, for example 205/55 R16. If you cannot read it, send a photo of the sidewall and your registration and we will look it up.

We quote a fixed price that includes the tyre, fitting, balancing, a new valve, disposal of the old tyre and VAT, then agree a time. For emergencies in Canterbury we aim for 30 to 60 minutes; booked jobs are usually same day or next day.

The fitter arrives in a fully equipped van, fits and balances the tyre next to the car, checks the pressures on the other three and takes the old tyre away for recycling through a licensed waste carrier.
For emergency call-outs in the city, Sturry, Whitstable and Herne Bay we aim for 30 to 60 minutes, allowing for queues at the Sturry level crossing and on the A2. Booked fittings are usually same day or next day. We give you an honest arrival time when you call, not a guess.
Yes. We can work in the road, a driveway or a car park anywhere we can legally stop for half an hour, including the campus car parks at the University of Kent and Christ Church. In the pedestrian streets inside the walls it is usually easier to meet at the nearest car park, and we will suggest one when you call.
Yes. Whitstable, Tankerton, Seasalter, Herne Bay, Herne, Sturry, Hersden, Chartham, Chilham, Bridge, Littlebourne, Wingham, Ash and the Elham Valley villages are all regular trips for us. Rural lanes are no problem for the van.
Get everyone out of the car and well away from the traffic, then call us. We attend the A2, A28, A2050, A257 and A290 around Canterbury 24 hours a day. If the verge is not safe to work on, we recover the car to a safer place first, often one of the park and ride sites, and fit the tyre there.
Yes. We regularly fit in car parks on the Wincheap industrial estate, at Lakesview near Hersden, at Kent and Canterbury Hospital, on the university campuses and at the shops and offices around Whitefriars. Ask us about fleet arrangements if you run several vehicles.
If the hole is in the central tread area and the tyre has not been run flat, we repair it to BS AU 159 for a flat fee. Sidewall cuts from flints, bulges from potholes and tyres driven on while flat cannot be repaired safely, and we will tell you before we start.
Every area has its own page with local roads, postcodes and answers. You can also read about the full mobile tyre fitting service, our car towing and recovery service, or contact us with a question.
Do not wait at the roadside wondering who to call. One phone call gets a fitter or recovery truck on the way.
